Max the dog Morris

I first picked up Max from a rescue in the summer of 2001. He has been my companion through some of the most painful, isolated and lonely times of my last decade. On Thursday morning at 3:30 in the morning, Max finally passed after a great deal of pain that started in the middle of the night.
I was scared and confused, and did not understand what was happening. I was with him as he died, this was not what he deserved, and the memories of his pain haunt me a great deal.
There is not way I would have ever imagined he would pass, I can’t thank him enough for being the glue in my life, the reason I woke up in the morning, and had to get home at night. He gave me purpose when others had abandoned me, when I woke at 4 in the morning with knots in my stomach on how to pay this month’s mortgage.
He was always there, the sweetest dog I have ever known, with warm brown eyes that would look into your soul with love and acceptance.

This week was the OMG technical meeting In St. Louis. After a weekof long hours and hard work, I went Thursday night to see the St. Louis Cardinals play the Metropolitains in the brand new Busch Stadium. I went with Kevin and Dick, who already had seats. I went all out and bought the best seat in the house. This included a catered dinner, and full service while seated just feet from home plate. It was quite a night, with the game so close I could hear the grunts of the swing, and the explosion when a ball was hit. They move fast!
It was a great game, a warm summer night, and St. Loius won after having to work a bit. The next day had me flying out of St. Louis to Cincinatti, an hour layover and on to Providence.
Today it was back to errands and working on getting the boat ready for the water.

Sunday afternoon in Atlanta Airport Posted by Picasa
Sunday afternoon in Atlanta airport. My bag made the connection to St. Louis, but they shut the door on me, so I got to spend four hours waiting for the next flight to Missouri. It made for a long day, and a late arrival.
At least I made it before the OMG meeting which started on Monday. Hopefully the return flight will be uneventful. Posted by Picasa

These children were along the roadside on the way from Guatemala to Honduras. There was a little fruitmarket in the middle of this incredibly rugged terrain. We pulled over to look at the fruit, and all these children appeared. I love the faces on these children.
